Wind & Rain

Hey everyone! I'm working on a couple new songs. I'll let you know later how they're coming. I'm sorry I haven't posted pix of my laptop yet, I'll try to do it tomorrow.

It rained today. Not a lot, but not a little like it usually does. Before it started raining, the sky was overcast and the wind was blowing a whole bunch. It was funny, because when I went outside to move things around so they wouldn't blow away, it felt really exhilarating. It was cool.

Free Indie Music

Right now I'm listening to music by an indie artist who calls himself OverCoat. It struck me that one of my hobbies is finding free indie electronic music over the internet. I didn't conciously decide this, like "I think I will start looking for indie music on the internet," but it just kinda happened. There's lots of great music available made by people who do it just because they love it. OverCoat has some pretty sweet stuff, especially his Ubo's Restaurant "album" (online artists put things into albums even though it's never really on a CD/tape/vinyl; these "albums" usually do sound pretty cohesive, like a "real" album) and his Memories EP. Another great artist is PlayRadioPlay!, and you can download 99% of his songs at his PureVolume page.

So, GO LISTEN TO THOSE GUYS! They're darn good. And remember, if you can't find good music, search the internet. There's lots of good music of every genre available for FREE, by people who just love doing it. What are you waiting for? GO!!

Out of Touch & Creativity

I turned in my final English essay. I was up until 2:30 last night finishing it. It was 2,007 words long with 16 sources of information. (For those of you who are wondering, it was an argumentative paper supporting the research and development of fuel cells.) I learned a lot, however, especially about how I, and Americans in general, are so very out of touch with the world. We think we know a lot about what's going on, but we really have no clue. So I'm going to try to start watching the news headlines a lot more. FireFox (the web browser I use on my Mac) has a wonderful little button labeled "Latest Headlines" which I will try to use with some frequency.






I've been in a very creative mood lately (translation: I'm a depressed artist), so I'm going to try to make some doodles and put them up here soon. I've also started a new blog where I hopefully will be able to post up installments of a book I started writing a long time ago that I'd like to pick up again. (View my profile to see the link to the new blog.) I'm really excited about this, since I haven't really written anything significant for quite a while. I think that my doodles and this book, like my music, will help me express parts of myself that I can't otherwise and can't or don't want to understand. So stay tuned for those things...
